the religion of the educated classes revisited: new religions, the nonreligious, and educational levels - james r. lewis .
the measure lewis uses to compare religious groups is what percentage of members of the respective religions have graduated from college.
the findings are similar to the results of the pew survey in the united states.
another question : among the college graduated witnesses, how many have used these years to learn to think by themselves? How many have taken a real benefit of this high education?
I know several young college graduated witnesses who hare absolutely uable to thing by themselves and only repeat what other (and uneducated people) have taught them!
So it's often a waste of time, for a well indocrinated witness to go to college!
the following booklets do also have my interest:.
1942 jehovah's witnesses - who are they - what is their work?
(32 pages).
yea i know it's not required or anything, but a lot of the people in the congregation are clearly in need of help that the elders can not give them and none of the other members seem to want to help.
so is it wrong for a person to want to get advanced social and medical training skills to help those in need?.
in 2016, to be a good JW, you just need to use a tablet with the JW application, and repeat stupidly what the governing body, and the CO, and the elders, and the publications have told you many and many times.
this way, you can become an elder in 10 years maximum, even in 6 years if you're ambitious and a talented ass-kisser!
odd.... friends of mine recently became members of an evangelical church.. up until they got baptised in this church, they still were visiting the jw meetings on a regular basis.they weren't really fading in the true sense of the word.. they came out of the closet about their new conviction quite publicly and even didn't shy away from getting in debate with the elders on biblical topics.. the elders are obviously very aware about their position and as they still were attending the meetings not so long ago, they clearly can be considered as people associated with the jw organisation.. as far as i know it seems they won't get disfellowshipped.
as long my friends don't harrass fellow witnesses with their 'renegade ideas' and 'false religion', elders seem to comply and leave things as they are.. this puzzles me as defecting to babylon the great always has been one the most worst offenses a jw could possibly commit.. could this be a case of local elders interpreting/applying things their own way or is there a (new) general policy trending ?.
anyone who knows about similar cases ?.
no, it is not strange at all.
when it is evident that you have left the JW religion for another, for example if you get married with a catholic office in a church, everybody in the congregation considers that you have left the faith.
if this person is not really known as a JW anymore (no meeting, no field service), it is not necessary to tell officially the congragation that this person has left his religion. The WTBTS considers that it doesn't really matter.
yesterday, i was feeling very blue.
this is quite unusual for me, as i tend to be quite an upbeat, positive person, so spells of sadness or depression take me by surprise and are a real shock to the system.
you know, i don’t believe in “putting on a face” or pretending to be ok; this “fake it ’til you make it” malarkey has never been something i’ve liked.
I'm playing in one of the best wind orchestras of my country. Although it is not my job, we work very hard to play together (we are almotst 70). The level is high but very motivating.
But there is one problem : playing with those worldy moralityless people is not understood by the cong. How can someone both serve Jehovah and have fun playing music with worldy persons??? For them, it will remain a mystery...
i just wonder what universities they would have gone to?
.
if possible, former members and current ones separately.... .
one thing sure : they all have graduated in manipulation most high degrees!!!
i stopped in to see if that are any overwhelming statistics, stories or feedback from people regarding the 2016 district convention.....haven't seen much...... any stories or threads?.
yesterday, in France, they heard a GB member (I don't remenber who it was) almost crying during the final prayer. It reminds me televangelists of the 80's. Many JWs where disturbed by this cinema show but none would admit it!

many millions who lived in centuries past and who weren’t jehovah’s witnesses will have an opportunity for salvation.
additionally, many now living may yet begin to serve god, and they too will gain salvation.
when I married my non-JW wife, several elders asked me how one could marry someone who would surely die in Harmageddon...
It was ten years ago, and 3 month ago, a newly appointed elder asked me how I could cope with the fact that my wife would not enter the new system with me.
I guess those points of view answer the question of this topic...

Of course they believe that they are the only ones to be saved. But last year, our CO told us that it was absolutely not autonatic. If you can do more but you miss some meetings or go in the field twice a month, or don't study enough..., you can expect to remain with this old system of things because Jehovah can read in your heart that your heart is not full for your God!!!
